Hello world.....

At last...internet. We had the guy come this morning and now have internet...Yay! So long time no speak, huh.. Sorry. I got really fed up of hunting down internet cafes where I had a time limit before the kids got bored and I ran out of time half way through posting anyway. So we are in the house and our caravan is now sat on the drive looking a bit lost.
and we have now gone from that to this...
It is very strange being in somewhere so big and I am still getting used to it. I really enjoyed being in the caravan and if it wasn't for the children struggling so with the heat during the afternoon I would still be in it. Living in such a space gives you a connection with the outside that you can't get living in a house. Any way, we are in and it is much cooler for the children and it is nice to have some where to call base for  a few months rather then just a few weeks. so news...

We have been out and about meeting new people and seeing bits that have been going on here over the summer. We went to an amazing medieval market with loads of stalls and displays on all sorts of things. There was different food stalls, animals, clothes and jewellery, and it was all lit up all evening. It was very beautiful. Photos below of the market, Amy's activities, and some of the activities in the garden...

So we unpacked and moved our stuff into the house and the children soon were loving it. Amy especially loves the pool and by day three had learnt to swim. We took here arm bands off and I got in and gave her some support for a couple of hours and then she was off. Now she looks like a little fish swimming about. So no more arm bands...she is so pleased with herself!

Then it was the count down until daddy was going to arrive... so we made calenders so that we could count down the sleeps.

and in true Tim styley...he arrives a day early. What do you expect...it's Tim. He got the days wrong when he sent me the details and arrives a day early. Nice surprise apart from the fact that I had the internet guy here as his text came through saying he was getting on the plan! Doh. Off to Malaga airport. So Tim is here and they are all playing in the pool. A week of the children spending time with him and a few day trips out I think. We might organise a bbq here on Saturday with some of the people I now know. We will see. It's too hot to run around any where. Any way here are some random other pics of our adventures over the last few weeks.....

and in and around the garden.....

and some more general out and about....

Off to see what they are up to now. I will post again soon when we have become accustomed to our new surroundings a bit more and spent some time with Tim.

My children have been possessed.....

I'm so hot I can't think straight? Amy is struggling so much now with being in the heat and not being able to retreat somewhere cool. Both of them are being a pain in the bum. They just don't know what to do with them selves in the heat. Amy just gets in a tizz and has a strop. I have taken to sitting her in a bucket with a flannel on her head. Two days to go, thank God! We have been busy meeting other families and doing the activities and choir this week, and the rest of the time is all about staying cool..

There are festivals pretty much every day here all summer and this week was the water festival, the witches festival, and my personal favourite...the festival of ham! It is pretty much any excuse for a party. I went to the choir this week and a new friend here took the children to the foam festival for children. Basically they got a foam machine in the center of the plaza and all the children went wild in it. I don't have pics of it because I wasn't there, but when I got back they looked like they were having a ball.

So we will be leaving the camp site on Tuesday after what seems like ages now.

To be honest the caravan is wearing a little thin now.. For months!

Four months

Four months of sleeping with my children 50 cms away
Going to sleep at the same time as them
Cooking, preparing food and dishing up on a side 40cm by 40cm big
Having no running water
Only being able to charge one electric product at a time
Washing all the clothes by hand
Packing away all the bedding every evening to get it out again in the evening
I could go on, and yet I have loved it. I would go it al again for another six months easily.

Four months of having to stand firmly on my own two feet
Of spending time with my youngest children whom I have an amazing relationship with
Meeting amazing people
Seeing amazing, breath taking places, having great adventures,
and doing things I never would have imagined

Yesterday I drove up a mountain with some friends to go and spend the day at some water falls. We took a picnic, and the children played in the water all afternoon. There were ten of them and the kids had a ball... It was stunning. I think Amy was tiered on the way back....

One of the people is a English teacher in Granada. She said there is loads of work there. So that is always a back up. She works 30 hours a week and gets full social security benefits here with that. I told her about the children's classes and she thought it was a great idea. Not many people want to work with the littlies here. It is all Uni students. In order to get a degree in any subject here they have to study English along side it. Regardless of the subject. This is why there is so much work. Every student has to learn English and to a decent standard too. So we will see. If I really can't make it here in Orgiva then I know there is work there.

So this is our home for the next six months at least. Orgiva...I will try and get some view of it from up the mountain as it is  stunning from there. It is hard to stop on the roads there though as it is so bendy!Other random pics, one of which is the choir from their last concert.

So this week we have Spanish lessons on Monday and Thursday, Moving on Tuesday, and looking after a friends children Wednesday. Choir Friday, (With the rescheduled wedding...Practising hard or badly, not sure which) and intercambio Tuesday morning. It is starting to get busy now and feel less and less like any kind of a holiday now with each day. Although it hasn't felt like that for some time. I'm not sure being anywhere with two children on your own is a holiday. Off to find some more water to pour on my children. Will post when the internet is up and running in the house...Yay!
